COMPOSITION

Solution for injection in ampoules (10 ml) contains 500 mg of ketamine hydrochloride.

Pharmacological action

Kalipsol is a tool for general anesthesia, has a rapid, pronounced, but short-lived effect. It is assumed that the mechanism of action of the drug due to the influences on the cerebral cortex and mesencephalon, especially in the limbic system. Active ingredient Kalipsola – ketamine – not only a strong analgesic, but also the only intravenous anesthetic that causes stimulation of the cardiovascular system.
Ketamine – a lipophilic drug – quickly distributed in well-supplied with blood organs, including the brain, and then redistributed in the tissue with reduced perfusion. The drug is metabolized in the liver, is derived liver and kidneys.

INDICATIONS

Introductory and basic anesthesia for short surgical operations, research tools and painful diagnostic manipulations.

DOSAGE

Determined individually. Kalipsol should be introduced slowly (over 60). The initial dose for adults with intravenous injection of the drug is from 1,0 to 4,5 mg / kg, for children – 0,5-4,5 mg / kg body weight. Average dose, providing anesthesia for 5-10 minutes, is 2.0 mg / kg.
The initial dose for adults with intramuscular injection of the preparation varies from 6,5 to 13,0 mg / kg, for children – 2,0-5,0 mg / kg body weight. A single dose of the drug, 10 mg / kg, provides anesthesia for approximately 12-25 minutes. To maintain anesthesia used the above dose or half of it.

ADVERSE REACTIONS

During anesthesia recovery are possible: increased blood pressure, tachycardia, salivation, nausea, respiratory disorders, hallucinations, psychomotor agitation, increased intracranial pressure, impaired consciousness.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

* Eclampsia.
* Hypertension.

INTERACTION WITH OTHER DRUGS

Ketamine potentiates miorelaksiruyuschy effect of tubocurarine, but does not affect the validity of pancuronium and succinylcholine.

CAUTION

Kalipsol should apply only experienced medical staff in a well-equipped with a specialized department.
Solution Kalipsola compatible with other drugs and muscle relaxants. Barbiturates, due to chemical incompatibility with ketamine, can not enter in the same syringe with Kalipsolom.
For the prevention of anxiety in patients after general anesthesia should be used droperidol (0.1 mg / kg body weight / m).

Pregnancy & Lactation

If necessary, the appointment of the drug during pregnancy should be borne in mind that when using a dose of 1-1,5 mg / kg body weight it does not adversely affect the fetus, when used in doses of 3 mg / kg Kalipsol cause respiratory depression in the newborn.

OVERDOSAGE

In the case of respiratory depression developing in overdose or too rapid introduction of ketamine, the need for mechanical ventilation (its preferred application analeptikov).
